Our approach to sustainable materials
We have summarised our vision on various materials in vision documents. In this we record how we want to deal with various materials. We currently have a vision document for the materials Wood and Plastic. This page will be expanded in the near future; We are working on vision documents for more materials.

Wood
At Ahrend, we see wood as a precious raw material. Thanks to its natural properties, we like to incorporate it into our products. Although wood is a material of the future, our forested ecosystems are under great pressure. That is why we opt for a careful and responsible handling of wood.

Plastics are indispensable in everyday life, but have a major ecological impact. We produce more than 400 million tons annually, while only 9% is recycled. About 22% end up in the environment or are not properly processed. Growing production is increasing the pressure on ecosystems. Therefore, responsible use and recycling is essential to limit the impact of plastics on the environment.

Fabrics
We only select fabrics that meet the highest quality standards and are designed to last as long as possible. We consider performance, application, appearance, feel, and environmental impact. To achieve this, we work closely with leading European suppliers. Our goal is to offer a fabric range made entirely from mono-materials and recycled or renewable materials.
